Our company was established September 10, 2002 as a venture business
of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology
(AIST) with the support of Tokai Kasei Company. Our main pursuit
is the reforestation of the Southeast Asia where large-scale deforestation
is rampant.
Today the world is faced with many severe, inescapable
environmental issues. Global warming, a very serious one, is the
main cause of such worldwide problems as floods, increases in
desert areas, expansion of malaria regions, and the submergence
of islands due to the rise in sea level. Global warming appears
to have caused the catastrophic flooding in China in 1998, in
which more than 4,000 people died and 300 - 500 million others
were affected. In 2002, television and newspapers reported wide-scale
flooding in Europe (Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Italy, France,
and western Russia), Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Vietnam,
China, and Korea, in which hundreds of lives were lost. These
floods are considered man-made calamities, caused by the decreased
capacity of land to hold water due to deforestation.
The main cause of global warming is the alarming
increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide. The way to decrease the
excessive amount of carbon dioxide in the air and fix it by photosynthesis,
the most suitable method for getting rid of unwanted carbon dioxide,
is to envelop the earth with as many trees as possible by restoring
devastated forest areas. For reforestation, it is necessary to
produce saplings efficiently and in large quantities within a
short period. Our company has developed a method to obtain many
saplings that uses powerful root formation promoters. Reforestation
using the saplings produced has been started in Lampang Province,
northern Thailand.
We are committed to work for reforestation in order
to decrease atmospheric carbon dioxide, the main cause of global
warming, and to enhance peoples' lives. If you are interested
in promoting reforestation, by all means please contact us.
